In their beautiful South Lake Union (slu) location in Seattle, Re:public Restaurant & Bar creates world-class cuisine with cocktails to match. Re:public has become a staple hang-out and local destination—fortifiying the booming slu neighborhood with food, drink and atmosphere. Our task was to create an identity system to complement the quality of their dishes and the cocktails they craft.

To complement their simple, but complex offerings we created hand-drawn seals to incorporate into the identity. Not only do the seals work as a component of the logo, they also function as stand-alone pieces to help label menus and other internal materials.

Photography

We had the privilege of using photography captured by Seattle photographer, Scott Pitts. The curated set of images we used paint a warm, authentic and lively portrait of what it is like dining with Re:public.

Dining with Re:public is a rich and engaging experience. Creating an online experience that was a simple and accurate reflection of this idea was our goal in designing site.

Signage

We implemented a traditional signage package to preserve the historical aesthetic of the Re:public facade.

Born in 74. Reimagined for 2024. We are incredibly honored and grateful that the Seattle Sounders tapped Column to reimagine this next chapter in their history. We have been trusted partners for many years and being a good steward of the club is something we have taken very seriously. It was our mission to deliver the fans everything needed out of this refresh with love, care and precision.

We updated the beloved crest, reimagined the original word mark, refreshed the color palette, and created a family of tertiary marks that accurately pay homage to the whole of the club. Additionally, we developed a comprehensive, custom typeface born from the letterforms drawn for the refreshed wordmark. The system blends styles of the past and future, archival with CGI, serious with playful, restraint with excitement. We partnered with specialists across the globe to infuse their expertise and truly take advantage of this special moment.
